Wix B2B eCommerce: how to make your Wix store wholesale-ready

Quick summary

Wix handles retail well, but wholesale is a different job. You can build a simple trade setup with native discounts and member-only pages, and for one simple volume break that is fine. Once you need tiered pricing, quoting, or agreed payment terms at checkout, you will want to add a B2B layer to the store you already have.

Adding B2B to your Wix store

Whether you are just starting out on your B2B journey or are replatforming, Wix is one of the easiest ways to scale your wholesale.

It is simple to set up, packed with great features, and designed for any brand to start selling online. But as your business grows, the platform's functionality on its own may feel slightly limiting. That is where SparkLayer comes in.

SparkLayer's mission is to make wholesale easier and more enjoyable for brands and buyers alike - so it made perfect sense to partner with Wix. Our tools give online stores the missing Wix B2B functionality they need, without expensive monthly fees or extensive development work.

By connecting SparkLayer to their Wix store, B2B brands can open up bulk selling options, simplifying the buying process for customers and scaling their business to success. In this guide, we'll explore how SparkLayer can boost your Wix store with wholesale features.

How do Wix's native B2B features stack up for your needs?

Do you need a B2B app on top of Wix? For some brands, the answer is no. If your wholesale setup is relatively straightforward or you're just starting out, Wix may already provide tools that may cover what you need in terms of pricing.

For example, you might offer a single volume break to all trade customers: buy more than 100 of the same product and receive 40% off. Wix supports this through automatic discounts, which you can apply to specific customer segments, members, or tagged contacts. Discounts can also be triggered by a minimum quantity or spend. Add a restricted store page for approved members, and you have a simple way to run wholesale alongside your existing store.

Where SparkLayer enhances B2B on Wix

As your wholesale operation grows, you may need more flexibility around pricing, quoting, and customer-specific workflows. This is where a dedicated B2B layer can complement Wix's native capabilities.

For example, if different accounts need different pricing structures, you may need a more flexible way to manage volume pricing and negotiated rates. Wix's discount tools can handle straightforward volume discounts, while more complex pricing requirements may call for dedicated B2B pricing functionality.

Quoting is another consideration. Wix's Price Quotes tool supports payment terms such as Net 15, 30, and 60, but quotes are managed separately from the Wix Stores purchasing flow. If your sales team needs buyers to request quotes directly through the storefront and carry an agreed price through to checkout, a dedicated Quoting Engine can extend that workflow.

How can I make my Wix shop B2B eCommerce-ready?

While Wix is a great platform for direct-to-consumer (D2C) and retail brands, it doesn't currently have all the features you typically need to get started with B2B, like:

You have three jobs to get right here. Your buyers need to sign in and see their own trade prices. They need to order fast, in the quantities they really buy, without clicking through product pages one at a time. And you need to get paid the way trade customers expect, which usually means an invoice or agreed payment terms.

Most brands arrive here the same way. You start out selling direct to shoppers, then a few stockists ask to buy in bulk. Before long you are taking those orders by hand in your inbox, off a price list you update yourself. SparkLayer's team hears the same complaint from those buyers over and over. They want to place their own orders on your site whenever it suits them, and they keep getting told no.

That's why more merchants are turning to SparkLayer - our software literally layers onto your existing eCommerce setup to create a Wix B2B shop that's ready to scale!

What features does SparkLayer add to Wix?

We'll cover the six biggest features that SparkLayer can add to your Wix B2B eCommerce store.

B2B-specific pricing

One of the first challenges Wix wholesale businesses face when transitioning into B2B is pricing. You likely already have D2C or retail prices set up - but B2B buyers expect different prices based on volume, customer type, or negotiated agreements.

With SparkLayer's Discount Engine, you can:

This transforms how you handle wholesale customers. Instead of emailing price sheets or manually updating orders, your buyers can simply log in and see their bespoke product and price list.

You can also set minimum and maximum order rules, and sell in pack sizes like units of 3, 6, or 12. Price lists can run in more than one currency too. A trade customer runs into these rules on every single order, so getting them right in the store saves your team from fixing the same mistakes by hand every week.

Bulk ordering made simple

While Wix is a brilliant out-of-the-box option for D2C buyers, your wholesale customers want a different experience. They're less bothered about browsing endless catalogues and product pages - instead, they want to see what's in stock and how much it costs. SparkLayer helps make bulk ordering faster and easier on your B2B Wix store:

This speeds up the buying process, reduces friction, and makes your Wix B2B shop a far more professional experience for your customers.

Quoting Engine

Quoting is a core part of many B2B operations and Wix does not currently support it. SparkLayer's Quoting Engine lets your customers build a cart, request a quote, and receive an adjusted order from your team, all within your Wix store.

Everything is tracked in one place with direct communication, price negotiation, internal notes, and order approval built in.

Sales Agent ordering

Masquerade ordering is quickly becoming an expectation within B2B - and it's another tool that SparkLayer can add to your existing Wix B2B shop.

Our Sales Agent tool allows your Sales reps to log in on behalf of your customers and either a) add items to their basket for them to approve and order or b) add items to their basket for them and process the order.

This is a great way to bring legacy or more traditional customers on board who have previously been ordering via email or phone calls. It can also incentivise repeat business, as you're making it even easier for customers to order from you. You're going above and beyond to enhance their customer experience - something that goes a long way when it comes to building meaningful business relationships.

Flexible payment methods

Online D2C payments are pretty straightforward - retailer buyers pay upfront with their card details or use a buy now, pay later (BNPL) option. Your Wix site will already be able to support these types of payment, with instalment options like Klarna, Afterpay, and Clearpay.

When it comes to B2B, you'll want to add some extra payment features to your Wix B2B shop. Using a platform like SparkLayer, you can add on functionality that your customers want - like payment by invoice, credit or net terms, or purchase orders (POs). You can also enable requests for quotes (RFQs) as mentioned above. By layering wholesale functionality onto your existing Wix site, you're able to accommodate B2B payment requirements without disrupting your retail business.

B2B catalogs for each customer group

Chances are you want different trade customers seeing different parts of your range. Maybe one line belongs to a single distributor, or there are products you'd rather keep off your retail shop altogether.

B2B Catalogs let you control what each customer group can see once they've logged in, so buyers only browse the products they're allowed to buy. That saves you the awkward email about an order you were never going to accept. And you can run exclusive ranges properly, with the store keeping track for you.

AI Intelligent Cart

For high-volume wholesale brands, manually entering orders is one of the biggest time drains. SparkLayer's AI Intelligent Cart lets your buyers or your sales team submit orders via email, PDF, or spreadsheet and have them automatically converted into a live cart on your Wix store. Fewer errors, faster processing, and significantly less admin.

FAQs

Can Wix do B2B without an app?

You can point automatic discounts at specific customer segments or tagged contacts, and you can hide a trade catalog behind a members-only page. But you can't run true volume pricing natively, and you can't stack a negotiated rate with a volume break. Buyers also can't request a quote from the cart.

Do I need to replatform to start selling wholesale on Wix?

No. SparkLayer layers onto the Wix store you already have, so you keep your design, your products, and your existing integrations. There's no migration and no change management project, which is the main reason brands pick a B2B layer over moving to a dedicated wholesale platform.

Can I run retail and wholesale from the same Wix site?

Yes, and plenty of our customers do. Your retail shop carries on exactly as it is for ordinary shoppers. Trade buyers sign in to see their own prices, catalog, and payment options on the same website.

How much does it cost to add B2B to a Wix store?

SparkLayer's Basic plan is free for up to 5 orders a month and 3 price lists. Paid plans start at $49 a month for Starter, then $149 for Growth and $299 for Pro, with Enterprise from $499. Every paid plan includes a 14-day trial.
