Introducing SparkLayer Pulse: see more, know more, sell more

For years, SparkLayer has been about one thing: giving your B2B customers a better way to buy. More than 3,500 brands, manufacturers and distributors now let their trade customers order on the store they already run, at their own prices and terms.

But commerce is changing. More of your customers now order on their own, so you need to see more, know more and grow faster.

Today, I'm really excited to introduce SparkLayer Pulse. It shows you all your B2B store data in one place and recommends what to do next: which customers need attention, why they've surfaced and how to act on it. It's live now, and it's included with every paid plan.

Why we built SparkLayer Pulse

Good customers rarely announce that they're drifting away. They order a little later than usual. A regular line drops out of the basket. A quote sits unanswered. None of it looks serious on its own - but across hundreds of accounts, it's easy to miss.

You and your sales reps know your customers. You just can't keep every account in your head. And the answers are usually sitting in the data already: in orders, quotes, invoices and baskets that nobody has time to dig through.

So we built SparkLayer Pulse to do the digging for you. It uses the customers, orders, quotes, invoices, products and account activity already running through SparkLayer. There's no separate data project, no new system to connect, and no rebuild of your store.

Let's dive in!

Know who needs you today

SparkLayer Pulse learns each customer's buying rhythm from their own orders. It then puts the accounts that need you at the top, with the reason and the likely commercial value. Maybe they're overdue on their usual order. Maybe they're going quiet, or down on last year. Maybe they're ready for more: similar customers buy products they don't stock yet.

Every insight comes with a recommended next step. You and your sales team start the day knowing exactly who to call, and why.

Walk into every conversation prepared

Before a call or a visit, Prep brings everything worth knowing about the account into one view. What they buy most and what they've stopped buying. Their usual basket. Open quotes and unpaid invoices. Even the products similar customers take that they don't - the easiest conversation starter there is.

Prep in SparkLayer Pulse: an account's orders, rhythm, what to raise and what they buy, ready before the call

Catch the next order before it's missed

The Reorder radar shows who is on rhythm, who is due or overdue, and who has gone quiet, with their usual basket beside each one. Turn the accounts worth contacting into dated tasks, or prep the order there and then.

And because your day isn't only about reorders, SparkLayer Pulse also brings together:

  • Task List - every promised follow-up, attached to the right account
  • Activity - orders, quotes, abandoned baskets and applications as they happen
  • Orders, Carts and Quotes - what's placed, what's in progress and what's waiting on a decision
  • Receivables - ageing balances from your accounting connection, with reminders straight from the invoice
  • Products - what's selling, what's slowing, and which customers buy each product (and which don't yet)
  • Customers and Pricing - every account, buyer and price tier, with new trade applications approved in one flow
  • Retention - who keeps coming back, and where activity is falling away

Meet Sparkie, your own sales agent

This is the part I'm most excited about. Sparkie is SparkLayer's own AI sales agent. He works across SparkLayer, helping you set things up - and in SparkLayer Pulse, he already knows your book.

You and your sales reps can ask about your customers, orders, quotes and carts in plain English. Where should I focus today? Which quotes have had no reply for two weeks? Who is spending less than last year? Every answer shows the numbers behind it and the next step, and takes you straight to the account.

Sparkie also leaves a short insight at the top of the overview and the pages you use most. The most important thing is never more than a glance away.

He's not the only AI working for you, either:

  • The AI Intelligent Cart turns the orders that still arrive by email into real baskets. Forward the email to that customer's SparkLayer order address, or drop in a spreadsheet, PDF or photo. SparkLayer matches the products and builds the basket at their prices, and anything it isn't sure about is left for you to review.
  • SparkLayer MCP connects AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT to your SparkLayer data. Your team can ask questions and prepare changes from the AI workspace they already use - with SparkLayer's permissions still in charge.

More on SparkLayer AI

From "they're due" to a ready-to-place order

Knowing who needs you is only half the job. The other half is taking the order - wherever the conversation happens. SparkLayer gives you three ways to do it, all at the customer's own prices and terms.

The full basket is for an order that needs building carefully, line by line.

Quick Buy is for the customer who knows what they want. The whole range sits on one screen at their prices, ready to add in one go.

Counter mode is for the customer standing in front of you, at the trade counter or on a show floor. Scan a barcode, tap their usual products, check their balance and terms, and complete the order there and then.

Whichever route you choose, the order goes through your existing store checkout - no re-keying, and no separate sales-order system.

Included with every paid plan

SparkLayer Pulse is built into the platform, not another system to buy and connect. It works the same whether it's just you or a whole sales team: on your own, set yourself up as the sales rep and the whole workspace is yours. Starter includes one sales rep, Growth two and Pro five, and Enterprise is tailored to your team. Additional sales reps are $39 per sales rep per month.

It works on Shopify, Wix, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento and custom platforms, on desktop, tablet and phone. And it opens in its own layer above your storefront, so there's no replatforming and no theme rebuild.

This is just the start

Today is day one for SparkLayer Pulse, and we'll keep shaping it with you.

Offline mode is coming soon, so you can keep working on a patchy show-floor connection. And there's plenty more where that came from - so please keep telling us what would make your day easier.

Roundup

Your next order may already be sitting in the data you have. SparkLayer Pulse helps you and your team find it, understand it and act on it - with Sparkie at your side.

The best way to understand it is to see it. Explore SparkLayer Pulse, or ask Sparkie on our website to load it onto your own store. If you'd rather talk it through, book a call with our team. I can't wait to hear what you think!
